READ-A-THON
Hopefully all of your children received their Read-a-thon envelope last week. They can be collecting pledges from friends, family and people that they know.  There are lots of Literacy Baskets to be won and there are 2 Grand Prizes to win.  One for the nursery to grade 3 students ($100 gift certificate for Tinker-town) and one for the grade 4 to 8 students ($100 for Grand Prix Amusements).  Please return your envelope and pledge money by Wednesday, May 31.

Learning's Fun ~ In Grade One! May 9, 2017

Reminders - NO SCHOOL on Friday, May 19 and Monday, May 22

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

FLAT STANLEY PROJECTS
Thank you to all of the parents who have sent in their family/friend addresses.  We have written our letters with pictures and information about Winnipeg and have made our Flat-People.  We will be mailing them out this week.  If you have not sent in a name and address for your child's flat-person to go and visit, please do so as soon as possible.

ADDITION FLASH CARDS
Last week I sent home a set of addition flash cards in a small ziplock bag.  Please practice these with your child until they are memorized.  The Manitoba government has put addition/math facts back into the school curriculum and every child is expected to know them by heart.  We have practiced them at school but they still need to practice daily at home.  This knowledge will really help your child when they move up into the higher grades.

FROG EGGS
A few weeks ago I asked if anyone had access to frog eggs.  If you do, keep an eye (and ear) out for them.  They should be here soon.
